THE YOUNGSTER COURTS MISS CHERRY
We had hoped that April would present itself in a fashion far more ‘typically normal’ than the UNADULTERATED & UNEXPECTED SHOWING that March gave us. At nearly mid-month, I’m not sure that spring will truly stay sprung but we shall revel in whatever green folks chose to grace us – the dwarf magnolia, the younger wisteria just beginning against the backdrop of his faithful buddy the cherry tree, the daffies in profusion and we were finally able to refresh some of our pots and planters – yea! Walk with me for a moment and just smell the beauty . . .
We suspect that the youngster and Miss Cherry have been doing some horticultural canoodling. Look really closely to see that the youngster has wormed his way into her ‘heart’ metaphorically and REALLY by using her as an arbor by which to climb her entire truck and shoot out blooms all the way to the top! What a dashing devil is he!
We shall have to make some snappy decisions about how and where we encourage this romantic collaboration. Once they cease blooming and leaf out it will be nearly impossible to differentiate their limbs. He also made advances on the chokecherry who we fear he could crush with his weight eventually so we may do some careful pruning.
