WINDOW WORKS
We elected for Joshua to begin with the absolute worst of the windows knowing that there would be a bit of a learning curve even following our agreed protocol of scrape – sand – fill/repair – prime – paint.
Perhaps the most important caliper is to determine “. . . how far do we go and where do we stop?” Our goal is to clean, repair, protect, and preserve rather than to rebuild.
We intend to tackle the other identical window next but in this situation we are likely to have to replace altogether the bottom piece of wood.
We believe in working hard, laughing, and playing hard so we needed to break the heat tedium for Joshua in the absence of his brimmed hat. I succeeded in being pretty darned stealth I think as we resurrected this relic from my dear mother’s collection from the ‘60s – what a hoot of a hat look!
At the end of the day we were Onward and upward!
