MAY DAY! MAY DAY!

What better way to ring in the Celtic season of Beltane than with the arrival of new finned folks? Former guests Shelley and Dave down in Cottonwood found themselves needing to rehome their two koi and one Plecostomus and were gracious enough to think of us – yay! Dave had the perfect net and set about wrestling the three of our charges into our transporting cooler.

And here they are from left to right – Mae, Belle, and Seymour, the Plecostomus.

It took both Dave and Joshua to get the cooler situated so that the travelers could remain calm.

Once here, we welcomed everyone into the lower pond, commenting that their world had just increased in size by about 25 times. As a result of their previous tight living circumstances, Mae’s fins are fairly UNDER-developed so with this additional space and requirement for maneuverability, we expect her to grow by leaps and bounds! Happy Beltane all around . . .

As a sideline and on another note that is furry rather than finned, one of our raccoon visitors is the epitome of ‘scratch the itch’.
