A SPIRIT OF NEWNESS

As we revel in the first sort of real monsoon season that Joshua and I can remember, bunches of new stuff are happening. The crotons and begonias in our two big flower boxes are bursting at the seams.

Yet another round of brand-new piglets, some glorious, winged person coming in for a picturesque landing and we haven’t seen squirrels in several years so welcome back mister!

And if you sneak up on the lily pad trough and are terribly patient, you can finally spy some of our little goldfish that we placed there a couple of years ago. They thrive under the protection of the dense lily pad cover.

This little baby packrat didn’t hide quite so successfully from our Mis Fiona who presented him to the Capt. a few nights ago. He enjoyed two overnights in the Capt.’s bachelor pad before we caught and released him, safe from Fiona’s stealth, we hope.

Look what just one week of warmth and rain has produced where we newly planted ground cover in the Chauffeur’s Quarters patio and threw in ample portions of dichondra and flowering clover in the beds themselves as well as in the grassy area.

And all this activity under the watchful eye of TSH new stealth bomber security monitor . . .
