We recently enjoyed a long-overdue return visit from guests Mary Alice and Jim Fox, both artists. When they were here perhaps 14 years ago, Jim gifted us two extraordinary watercolors which were framed and have hung in the atrium and Chauffeur’s Quarters ever since. One was of The Surgeon’s House in winter and the other is of the late and beloved koi, White Buffalo Woman. I adore them both.
In the meantime, Jim has carved a significant niche in the artworld with his watercolor portraiture. I literally do not have words to express my emotions when I opened their intimate and incredible gifting – humbled am I for certain. And imagine the intuitive genius of him inexorably linking ‘too many/ALL the andrea-s’ with my precious The Surgeon’s House. Take a look.
Talk about belly up in gratitude! Thank you Jim and Mary Alice . . .
