JUST ANOTHER FOODBANK WEDNESDAY

This week after nearly a month of disheartening donations, we finally caught a bit of a break. Our dear friend Ann at the local Jerome Food Pantry requested Cheezy Potatoe Soup so armed with maybe 35-40 lbs. of potatoes, at least 5 lbs. both of celery and onions – KW pulled the short stick with onion duty, we set to chopping. We sautéed the celery, onion, garlic, salt/pepper, and garden-picked rosemary in a pound of butter (also a foodbank rarity) and boiled the Yukon golds in our foodbank-fodder homemade broth and milk, the milk also an item not often found at our foodbank. Good smells at TSH this morning.

Tasting and tweaking, we ended up with an Ann homerun of about 50 individual containers!
